Pub. 300 - 3 Locks Brewery Tap, 30th April 2024
Things have changed since 300 pubs ago. Pub 1 wasn't squatted back then, and pub 300 was a panel beating shop.
Strange how when they redeveloped it they didn't remove the graffiti. They probably loved the edginess and cool and pondered if it was Banksy.
So this is the only brewery in Camden Town. Yes Camden Town brewery, this is the only brewery in Camden Town. It's also the only pub in Camden where you can't buy a pint. Or a half. Only a third, or two thirds. Two thirds of a lager is £5. The friendly bar staff explained this was to do with the licence, but I susect it's to do with their business model so they can charge £7.50 a pint without the tourists noticing.
Also when they redeveloped it, I wonder why they didn't bother doing anything with the drains that come from the railway above. I'm sure they weren't panel beating under a constant drip on railway rain water (on a rare day of no rain) but now you're paying £7.50 a pint it's ok to sit under it. They don't even arrange the tables & chairs around it. At least it kept a French family with many kids away from me.
I hear that if you're associated with canal you'll get a 20% discount. That's a 1/5 off your 1/3
Also 300 pubs there was a chance that we may have got a proper half decent-ish pub near here. Oh well.
